Update 12/30/25: It's arrived!

Original story 12/30/25: There's only one more episode of Stranger Things before we leave The Upside Down forever (or, until the show gets a spin-off), and we have basically zero idea what's going to happen. In other words: we desperately need a trailer.

It's been 84 years (five days) since Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 dropped, and Netflix finally revealed that the trailer for the show's very last episode is coming today: Tuesday, December 30. Here's Vecna himself, aka Jamie Campbell Bower, announcing as much:

Quick reminder of where things left off in Volume 2:

  1. We discovered that the Upside Down is a wormhole and Vecna's using it to smash Dimension X into the real world. Though...we still don't know why he's doing this.
  2. The plan? Very complicated, but essentially involves stopping Vecna by blowing up the Upside Down. And somehow escaping?
  3. Holly is once again trapped with Vecna after a daring escape with Max.
  4. Kali is seemingly trying to convince El to sacrifice herself in order to break the "cycle" of evil doctors using their blood to create more "supernatural" kids. But also everyone thinks Kali is evil, so.
